We’ve seen and been part of endless discussions regarding FIFA 21 player ratings. Most of you have your favourite teams and players and will likely lack objectivity in giving the actual grades in these discussions. This is why, together with the experts at betting tips site bettingTips4you we have decided to analyze the list of the most precious gems in the game and see if there is a reason for serious complaints.

If, for whatever reason, soccer isn't exactly your cup of tea, there are some worthwhile alternatives out there. For instance, you can check out a sport not on Gamstop for some non-soccer activities.

We will try and be as objective as possible, sharing our opinion based on stats and the numbers rather than the aesthetical appeal on the pitch. So, you can all guess that Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo occupy the top three spots in the list of the most talented and worthiest players in the game. However, do you know the order?

1 – Lionel Messi, Barcelona
Lionel Messi has arguably been the best football player on the planet in the last decade. He is loved by everyone except for dedicated Real Madrid fans. Nevertheless, did he really deserve the top spot in the list of the best-rated players in FIFA 21? We very much doubt so because Barcelona looked disastrous last season. The Catalans did not win a single trophy and they have suffered an embarrassing elimination to Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Despite these results, the Argentine maestro still leads the line in the game with an overall rating of 93.

2 – Cristiano Ronaldo, Piemonte Calcio
The Ronaldo-Messi debate will never get old. Most experts say that Messi is the more talented player, but Ronaldo’s work ethic made him a lethal finisher capable of matching Lionel’s magnificent numbers throughout the career. EA, however, had an easy job deciding the winner of this duel. They just can’t have the best player of the game bound to the unlicensed side (Piemonte Calcio), and it was reasonable to expect Lionel Messi to come on top. Ronaldo is still the second-best rated player in the game with an overall rating of 92.

3 – Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich
This is the man who well deserved the No 1 spot in the list, with all due respect to the aforementioned legends. Robert Lewandowski has had an outstanding year. Just look at his numbers from the previous season. The Pole talisman notched 61 goals in 57 appearances for the strongest German club. He led the Bavarians to Bundesliga and Champions League trophies, destroying his majesty of Lionel Messi (among others) in the process. If we were to decide, Lewa would definitely be the top-rated player in the game. We guess Messi & Ronaldo have just too many social media fans. Anyways, Robert Lewandowski still sits high with a 91 overall rating-

4 – Neymar, PSG
The Brazilian prodigy deservedly holds the fourth spot on our list. He is rated at 91, just like Lewandowski, but we had to give the Pole credit for guiding Bayern Munich to all the mentioned trophies last season. Neymar did lead his team to the first-ever Champions League final, though. Nevertheless, he failed to perform at the biggest stage as PSG fell 1-0 to the Bavarians on the occasion. We do expect Neymar to rise in acceleration, spring speed, dribbling, and ball control in the years to come, though. He is 28 at the moment and Messi and Ronaldo have no more than a couple of seasons each at the highest level.

5 – Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City
To be fair, we just can’t see how Kevin De Bruyne shares the same rating as the likes of Lewandowski and Neymar. Manchester City have never done anything serious in the UEFA Champions League. Although Pep Guardiola has an extremely talented group of players in his ranks, the Citizens constantly fail to deliver the goods when it matters the most. Their key player, Kevin De Bruyne, might be the one to blame. Do not get us wrong, the Belgian is a genuine superstar and the best creator in the game, but he did nothing to be ahead of the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Mohamed Salah, or Sadio Mane.

6 – Jan Oblak, Atletico Madrid
We could argue about the best goalkeeper in the game as well. Jan Oblak has been spectacular in the several seasons, but has he done more than the likes of Manuel Neuer or Alisson? Atletico Madrid have been nowhere near the battle for the trophies last season whereas Alisson has played a big role in Liverpool’s inaugural Premier League title in 30 years. The Slovenian keeper edges the likes of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Alisson, Manuel Neuer, and Thibaut Courtois with a rating of 91.

7– Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool
We will complete the list with the best defender in the game. There is no dilemma here at all. Virgil van Dijk has taken Liverpool’s defence to a completely new level since his arrival at Anfield. After all, we can see how much the Reds are struggling for clean sheets in the 2020/21 Premier League campaign without the injured Dutchman. His 90 overall rating is well deserved.
