Here we are in 2021 and already the delay announcements are hitting. Fortunately for fans, this delay announcement is a bit on the shorter side. Developer Edmund McMillen says that despite the desire to get The Binding of Isaac: Repentance out in December 2020, he needs some extra time for polish. As such, the game won't see a release until March 31, 2021.

The expansion has been in development for roughly three years now. Maybe a three month delay isn't exactly all that terrible when you consider this.

McMillen announced the short delay and the new release date via a trailer on The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Steam page. You can actually see that trailer below.

Though a PC release via Steam is coming on March 31, a console release has yet to be confirmed. All we know is that a console release for Repentance will be coming at a later date.

The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is said to be a "sequel sized final expansion" for the game. It promises to add over 130 new items, over 100 new enemies, over 25 new bosses, two new playable characters, over 5,000 new room designs, and much more.
