It seems as though the demand for 30 series cards from Nvidia just reached all-new highs. It has been reported that 40 cargo boxes, or over 200 individual boxes of RTX 3090 cards were lifted from an MSI factory in China. Going by their MSRP, this equates to the theft of roughly $336,000 worth of stolen video cards.

MSI has reportedly already alerted the authorities to the theft. They are also offering up a reward of nearly $15,000 for anybody that has any useful information regarding the whereabouts of these stolen cards.

The current MSRP for the RTX 3090 is around $1,500 (USD). However, due to the extremely low stock and high demand of the 30 series of cards, scalpers have been able to sell these cards for well over $2,200 a piece. Even without being stolen and sold on auction sites, these cards are fetching a pretty profit for scalpers.

It should go without saying that you should never pay these astronomical prices for products that retail for hundreds of dollars less. Just show some patience and refuse to give scalpers your money. Eventually, supply will finally be able to meet the demand of the market.

No other card manufacturers have reported similar thefts at present.
