Insomniac Games' community director James Stevenson provided some hot new details about Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered that is included only with Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales: Ultimate Edition. Remember that there is no upgrade path from the PS4 release. This PlayStation 5 re-release of the critically acclaimed title will feature some changes made specifically for the next-gen experience. This news comes courtesy of the PlayStation Blog.

First and foremost, you will probably notice that Peter Parker's model is looking quite a bit different, younger even. Stevenson says that they have "recast" the face of Peter Parker to get a better match for Yuri Lowenthal's facial capture.

This does bring us to one of the bigger changes. In order to bring the best performances to players with our next-generation Marvel’s Spider-Man games, we have recast the face of Peter Parker. We loved working with John Bubniak on the original game; however, to get a better match to Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal’s facial capture, we have cast Ben Jordan to be the face model for Peter Parker on the PS5 console. He looks incredible in-game, and Yuri’s moving performances take on a new life.

Additional improvements to the game include an update to the entire city itself to take advantage of the PS5 hardware and capabilities. This includes improved models, materials, ray-traced reflections, and ambient shadows. The game now features true reflections on the windows of buildings and they will even reflect back the weather.

Character models are also upgraded. They sport higher fidelity skin, eye, and teeth shaders. There are also apparently individually rendered strands of hair.

Typical PS5 features are also included such as near-instant loading (though you can still turn on the fast-travel animations if you want), Spatial 3D Audio, and the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on the DualSense controller. Photo Mode was also updated. You can now place lights in the environment and change your suit once you get your shot lined up.

They also revealed that the game now includes The Amazing Suit. You can scope that out below. Also included below is a look at the game running at 60FPS in the new Performance Mode option.
