EA's Peter Moore is saying farewell to the gaming industry in a rather unusual way. Liverpool Football Club (Liverpool FC) announced today that Moore will take on the role of CEO for the organization starting this Summer. That's right, the big boss at EA Sports will be going from being "in the game" to actually being in the game.
The 61-year-old is currently chief competition officer at Electronic Arts, based in the United States, and will move to Liverpool to join the club in the summer. His nearly 10 years at EA have seen him in a number of leadership positions, including chief operating officer and president of EA SPORTS.

This was completely unexpected. Best of luck to Peter Moore on his new role. It's certainly going to be weird not seeing him take the stage during various gaming trade show events.

EA's Andrew Wilson had some rather heartfelt words to share on Moore's departure.
