Independent game studio, Vlambeer, is busy celebrating its 10 year anniversary today! It's also shutting down. Despite this odd and surprise announcement, the studio says that their upcoming game, Ultrabugs, is still going to be released.
Vlambeer did not really go into any specifics about what the two co-founders would be moving on to next. The studio was formed 10 years ago by Jan Willem Nijman and the every outspoken Rami Ismail. All we really know for sure in the immediate future is that Ultrabugs is still coming out. They are also still looking into "further support for some of (their) earlier games."
In honor of Vlambeer, there is currently a big sale going on via Steam right now for games that Vlambeer had helped to develop and publish. Some of these titles include gems like Luftrausers, Nuclear Throne, Super Crate Box, and Serious Sam: The Random Encounter.
The announcement came via short but succinct tweets made earlier today.
