A new Season dawns.
D2 Season of Arrivals

It's June 9, 2020 and that means only one thing: A new Season for Destiny 2 has just been released. Bungie kicked off the new season with a lengthy reveal stream roughly one hour before the new Season officially kicked off. During the stream, we not only got a taste of what was to come in this latest Season, but also a taste of what's to come for Destiny 2 over the next two years.

First off, the new Season is officially being called Season of Arrivals. Hot on the heels of the destruction of the Almighty comes a new threat. Giant, dark pyramids have appeared in our Solar System and they don't exactly seem to be particularly friendly. You are called upon to find out the meaning behind an obscure message to see what the true intentions are for the pyramids.

A dark omen enters our system and a signal howls through the emptiness of space. Darkness begins to reveal itself on Io and within the heart of the Cradle. In the shadow of the Pyramid ship, you must search for answers.
As usual, there is content for both Season Pass owners and those who do not own any of the additional Seasons. One of the big draws for this new Season is a new dungeon. Players will enter into the realm of the IX (nine), a "dimension where the rules of your world no longer exist." You will face off against the Taken and apparently manipulate reality to solve puzzles. Up is down. Light is dark. Cats are now dogs. That's just how it is there.

Let's not forget that there will be new Exotics to earn along with some other new customization options. The full list of changes in today's update can be found at Bungie.net. I'd have included it here but it seems as though pasting in the changelog just completely breaks the included bullet points in the changelog. I'm sorry about that. There are a lot of balance changes that players will undoubtedly want to know all about, so be sure to check it out.

To make up for it, here is a photo album of pretty much every single Season of Arrivals screenshot and promo art. You can thank Bungie for these.
