Oh no...
Fast & Furious Crossroads

The first lengthy look at the gameplay for the upcoming Fast & Furious Crossroads was released today by Bandai Namco, Universal Games and Digital Platforms, and Slightly Mad Studios. And let me just say that it looks bad in motion. Keep in mind that what you're about to see is a current-gen title slated for release on August 7. This looker of a game is coming out on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on that date.

The one neat thing about the game is that ti will feature a three-way multiplayer mode. However, details about that won't be revealed just yet. Look for that information to arrive "in the coming weeks."

This game is so odd. It actually looks fairly decent in the screenshots (seen above and two more below), but the actual gameplay portions look decidedly last-generation. This is going to be a real interesting release come August. Slightly Mad Studios is the same studio that develops the largely revered Project CARS titles. They also developed Need for Speed: Shift and Shift 2, so they do know a thing or two about arcade-style racing games.

The Fast & Furious Crossroads story mode expands the Fast & Furious universe—with Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson reprising their roles as Dom, Letty, and Roman in an action-packed adventure set across stunning global locations, including Athens, Barcelona and Morocco. Joining the cast are Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery, The Walking Dead) and Asia Kate Dillon (Billions, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum).
