Features a new story by Final Fantasy Tactics writer.
Final Fantasy XIV patch 5.25

The 5.25 patch for Final Fantasy XIV was released early in the day on April 7. Patch 5.25 includes the "Save the Queen" questline, which is a new series of adventures written by Yasumi Matsuno (Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy XII). Matsuno is also responsible for writing the Return to Ivalice raid series.

Square Enix says that this update also includes some new content for those who like to hunt and gather. A brief overview for the update can be found below. However, if you love to know all of the tiny details of an update, you can head on over to the Final Fantasy XIV website for the full changelog.

In addition to the 5.25 update, there is also a special seasonal event now underway. It's Hatching-tide 2020 and it ends on April 13. This special event does include some limited-time rewards like button costumes and new housing items.

Square Enix also really wants you to check out the six episodes that make up their "Creation of Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers" series. This YouTube series includes a detailed look at the development of the Shadowbringers expansion and of Final Fantasy XIV in general.
