  • First Kingdom Hearts Games Now Available on Xbox One

The first Kingdom Hearts games have finally hit a non-Sony platform.
    Kingdom Hearts Xbox One

Square Enix and Disney just released the first few Kingdom Hearts games on the Xbox One today. This marks the first time ever that the first main Kingdom Hearts titles have been released on a non-Sony platform. While today's release may not include Kingdom Hearts III, it does features a combined nine adventures to experience.

At $49.99 (USD), you can first pick up Kingdom Hearts - HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX -. This release includes 6 of those 9 Kingdom Hearts experiences and is precisely where those who have never played the franchise before will want to begin their adventures. In short, this release includes the first two games and a bunch of bonus content that is either included as part of the games or as cinematics that includes more plot points.

After that is the $59.99 (USD) release of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. This release includes an HD remaster of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts x Back Cover. The story is all over the place, including partly taking part during the events of the first Kingdom Hearts game. Just play the games in numbered order, which I guess for all of these would be HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX and then HD 2.8. If you don't understand the plot after all that, I wouldn't worry about it too much, nobody else does either.

In total, these two compilations should give you "over 100 hours of Kingdom Hearts adventures."

Speaking of Kingdom Hearts III, Square Enix says that the Re Mind DLC for the game will be be released on the Xbox One starting on February 25. This DLC will retail for $29.99 (USD) at launch. This is the same expansion that came out on the PlayStation 4 on January 23, 2020. There will also be a package that contains the Re Mind DLC plus footage from the Kingdom Hearts - World of Tres - Orchestra concert from a performance in Osaka, Japan. This package will go for $39.99.

On top of this, Kingdom Hearts III will be added to Xbox Game Pass starting February 25. Though subscribers to Game Pass will get access to the full base game, the Re Mind DLC will still need to be purchased separately.

After Three Years, Square Enix Finally Remembered Kingdom Hearts Wasn't on Steam Yet
      by Shawn Zipay
Wow, Square really is serious about ditching platform exclusives.

The PC release of the Kingdom Hearts games happened way back in 2021. However, the PC release then did come with a catch and that catch was that it was exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Like many games that have come before and after it, many believed that it would be an Epic Games Store exclusive for a year at most.

That year turned to two, then two years became three years. Finally, after over a three-year...

Perfect for those that do not own any Kingdom Hearts game.

In the far off time of late 2018, Square Enix released a couple of different package deals for the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Specifically, they released a package deal called Kingdom Hearts - The Story So Far - that included Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.

Essentially, this deal included nearly all of the content leading up to Kingdom Hearts 3. It cost you just $39.99...

      It's finally happened.

Today during the X019 event, Microsoft, Disney, and Square Enix announced that the older titles in the Kingdom Hearts franchise will be coming to the Xbox One in 2020. This news comes some months after Kingdom Hearts 3 was released on the Xbox One family, despite the first titles never appearing on the Xbox platform in the past.

This all changes in 2020 when Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue get released....

Kingdom Hearts Series Hits the PC Today via the EGS

Kingdom Hearts is finally on the PC!... Assuming you use the Epic Games Store at least.

Ah, what a bittersweet day for some fans today. After almost 19 years, the Kingdom Hearts franchise is now available on the PC for the first time ever! That's the good news. The bad news is that it's a timed exclusive on the Epic Games Store because Square Enix probably hates you and loves that free Epic money. I can't say I blame them. Money is good to have.
