For the first time, WNBA teams and players will be included in the Play Now and Season modes for NBA 2K20. There will be 12 teams and over 140 players, including fan-favorites that you will get to play as. There will be unique gameplay animations, play styles, and visuals built specifically around the WNBA experience.
Some of the WNBA's biggest stars like Candace Parker and A'ja Wilson were scanned earlier this year for their inclusion in NBA 2K20. Not only is their facial likeness in the game but so is their custom motion capture work. The WNBA in NBA 2K20 arrives at the game's launch on September 6, 2019 for the Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC.
"Growing up, I always remembered watching male athletes on TV and playing as them in video games. Now, to have the WNBA be in the position we are and to have women featured prominently in NBA2K20, we are allowing young girls and boys to have female athletes as role models,†said Candace Parker, Los Angeles Sparks forward. “The 2K team has done an amazing job of making sure to not just put women into the game playing men’s basketball, but I’ve seen first-hand the hard work they’re doing to make this as real and authentic as possible to women’s basketball.
