Darril Arts and Stormind Games announced today that a Nintendo Switch release of Remothered: Tormented Fathers will conjure up some scares on July 26. The port of this survival horror title was done by DICO Co., Ltd. I legitimately have no idea if DICO Co. has handled any other ports, but they were mentioned by name in the press release. I assume it might be a familiar name for some of you out there. Maybe you know whether or not this is going to be a good port as a result of their work or not.
Whatever the case may be, we won't know how good the port is until later this month. The original releases of the game have pulled in a fair bit of praise. OpenCritic has the game sitting at a 72% critical average for the PC release that came out back in 2018. If you do end up playing this, just keep reminding yourself that while the main character looks nearly identical to Jodie Foster from the early 90s: She is, in fact, not Jodie Foster.

In Remothered the player assumes the role of Rosemary Reed, a woman investigating the disappearance of a girl, Celeste. She arrives at the home of Celeste’s adoptive father, Richard, to search for clues but is quickly stonewalled. She sneaks back to the home in the evening and finds herself fighting for her life in a waking nightmare. Remothered has received serious praise from both its players and the media, winning 11 awards for its gripping story, tense gameplay, and all-star soundtrack composed by music legends such as Nobuko Toda (Metal Gear Solid, Kingdom Hearts, Halo) and Luca Balboni (Mine, Watch Them Fall). This experience comes to the Nintendo Switch for the first time with full support for the console’s signature portability and control schemes.
