This one is a big ol' "yikes." The saga of Agony has been a real rough one. After successfully being crowdfunded, the game was delayed for months before eventually being released. However, it had to make some cuts to the content in order to appease its publisher and not be hit with an AO rating.

The developer, Madmind Studio, said that they would release an uncensored patch with all of the cut content afterwards. Only, they didn't allegedly due to legal reasons. So the game was released albeit with some cut content. What remained was still quite graphic, but fans were still upset. I suppose the game not actually being any good didn't help matters either.

It was then that Madmind said that they would self-publish Agony Unrated, a separate release of the game, on the PC. This would allow them to not have to worry about the AO rating nor getting any publisher in trouble.

Oh wait, that was also just cancelled.
Hi Gamers,

We regret to inform you that our company is currently struggling with financial problems. Due to technical and legal reasons, Madmind must cancel the development of Agony Unrated. Part of the team will continue to support Agony on Steam and consoles by publishing new patches.

Regarding the Xbox One patch - we have managed to find and fix the bug that was present on the Xbox One X console. We have sent the improved update to our publisher, who will pass it to the Microsoft today or tomorrow and we are expecting it to be approved in the next couple of days.

PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will get another patch this week. It will introduce many fixes and a highly refined lighting system.

Kind regards,
Madmind Studio
