This should come as no surprise to those that read the rumor from late last night, but Dark Souls: Remastered was officially announced today. Really, the only thing that's different from the initial leak is the fact that the remaster is not a PlayStation 4 exclusive as initially thought. Instead, Dark Souls: Remastered will be released for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam on May 25, 2018.DEEP AND DARK UNIVERSEEACH END IS A NEW BEGINNINGGAMEPLAY RICHNESS AND POSSIBILITIESSENSE OF LEARNING, MASTERING AND ACCOMPLISHMENTTHE WAY OF THE MULTIPLAYER (UP TO 6 PLAYERS WITH DEDICATED SERVERS)**All 4 platforms will have dedicated servers.
We're looking at at dynamic 4K resolution for the PS4, XB1, and PC versions. Though it's more likely that the PC release will be a full 4K at all times if you so desire.
PlayStation 4 owners in Japan with a decent amount of extra money to burn can pick up the Dark Souls Trilogy box. This includes Dark Souls: Remastered, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls 3: The Fire Fades Edition. This bundle includes the soundtrack for each game, bookends, an encyclopedia, and unique art. It's out on May 24 for around $450 (USD).
