On the eve of their big E3 2017 conference, Microsoft had a nice early announcement for fans. If you wanted to pick up a new Xbox One S, they will be $50 cheaper starting tomorrow, June 11, 2017.

This should place most basic bundles at around $200 (USD) for the 500GB model. Some bundles that include Battlefield 1 or Gears of War 4 will now be around $250.

For comparison, the Nintendo Switch is going for $300 without any bundled game. The PlayStation 4 (non-Pro) is $300 with a game. The limited edition gold PlayStation 4 is going for $250, which may indicate that the normal model will also get a $50 price drop once the limited run is over. The PlayStation 4 Pro is still going for $400. This may also see a price reduction soon, depending on how Sony reacts this week.

This could be a nice setup for a decent starting price for the Scorpio. We'll obviously see more on Scropio tomorrow at 5PM (ET) during Microsoft's conference.

Update, June 11, 2017, 3:04PM ET: Microsoft has clarified that this price drop is only on select bundles and only for a limited time. The price drop runs from June 11 through June 19.
