    Xbox One SAD Edition Announced

Microsoft officially announced a new Xbox One SKU today. It's called the 1TB Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, or the Xbox One SAD Edition if you're feeling cheeky. As you may have already gathered from the name, there is no optical drive included on this Xbox One.

It's just like a normal Xbox One S except you can't play any disc-based games. You can only download games or stream them. So just like the regular Xbox One S, you can still pre-order games, pre-load games, save games locally and to the cloud, and you still have access to your entire digital game library. It's literally...

Microsoft Reportedly Releasing an All-Digital Xbox One in May

The "all digital future" may be closer than you think if a new rumor is to be believed. According to Brad Sams from Thurrott.com, Microsoft is getting ready to release an Xbox One S console that doesn't have a disc drive.

Sams says that the internal codename for this device is "Xbox Maverick" with the public facing name being "Xbox One S All-Digital Edition." Pre-orders are apparently slated to go live mid-April with a release possibly coming as early as May.

Beyond being able to purchase games directly through the Microsoft Store...

Xbox All Access is a New Way to Purchase an Xbox One

Microsoft announced Xbox All Access today and with it came a whole new way for potential owners to pay for and purchase an Xbox One console.

This is a U.S. focused subscription model that will allow you to pay a monthly fee in order to purchase an Xbox One S or Xbox One X, plus two years of Xbox Live Gold, plus two years of Xbox Game Pass. The Xbox One S payment plan starts at $22 (USD) a month for 24-months or $35 for 24-months for the Xbox One X bundle deal.

There is no interest on these bundles. Not only that, but if you do the quick math on this, the Xbox One S bundle will actually run you about $130 less than if you bought the system, Live, and Game Pass separately.
    For no upfront cost

PUBG on a Budget - Is It Possible?

With the upcoming early access release of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds for the Xbox One, many PC players have started to wonder if their computers would be able to deliver similar performance. Beyond that, many PC gamers have begun to wonder what sort of budget it would take to get PUBG to run at a solid 30fps at high resolutions similar to what is expected of the game on the Xbox One X at launch. As it stands, the only thing we know for sure is that all Xbox versions of PUBG will run at 30fps when it enters into early access on the Xbox platform on December 12th. We do not yet know the resolution that the game will run at on either the base Xbox One hardware, the slightly more powerful Xbox One S, nor the far more powerful Xbox One X ...

  • PS4 Neo Officially Named PlayStation 4 Pro - $400, 4K Media Streaming, No UHD Blu-ray Player, and More

Sony officially announced the PlayStation 4 Neo today. Actually, they're calling it the PlayStation 4 Pro. It features 4.2 TFLOPS of GPU power, an 8-core AMD CPU, 8GB of GDDR5 memory, a 1TB HDD, and 4K media streaming capabilities.

Interestingly, it has been confirmed by multiple sources that despite the device being capable of streaming 4K media, it cannot actually play 4K Blu-ray discs. It lacks a UHD media player for some bizarre reason.

The PlayStation 4 Pro also won't feature native 4K gaming either. It will be upscaled. The power consumption, as seen in the above image can hit upwards of 310W. HDR was another big feature that was shown off during ...
