tri-Ace, the studio behind some of the greatest Japanese RPGs ever, is now a dedicated smartphone developer after it was acquired by Nepro Japan. tri-Ace is the studio responsible for developing games and franchises such as Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, and Resonance of Fate.
Mobile company, Nepro Japan, announced that they will acquire all tri-Ace shares through a cash buyout. Nepro Japan will have tri-Ace focus on only creating mobile and smartphone titles for the foreseeable future. For those out there expecting to see a new Star Ocean or sequels to Resonance of Fate, I'm sorry I had to break your hearts like this.

Was kinda hoping some of those games would find their way to PC, continue a trend started by Valkyria Chronicles.
Sort of connected, tri-Crescendo did audio work for Ace, they made a few games including Eternal Sonata which is a brilliant game, wonder what happens to them in this deal. They might remain seperate working for Namco.
