A new FPS has just popped up on the radar and it should be popping up on your radars as well. Toxikk is a new arena based FPS that developer Reakktor Studios promises will take "the arena FPS back to its roots."
That means the game will have things such as double jumping, no reloading, no regenerating health, no leveling up, no perks, no classes, no customization. All it has is just a lot of fast-paced shooting and violence and that's just fine.
Some other features of the game include two different map types: Classic and Massive. Classic will be small to medium-sized maps for up to eight players. Massive maps are larger maps for up to 16 players and will include vehicles such as gliders, bombers, hoverbikes, and more.
The team also promises that they will provide a free SDK to all registered players that will allow them to create custom maps, characters, and skins. The team will even provide a hub site where others can download any of the content that is created.
Toxikk is up for pre-order right now in a variety of package offers on their website. You will be given a Steam key at the packages starting at $15. The beta for Toxikk is expected to begin later this year through Steam.
This will certainly be a game to keep an eye out for if you're a fan of multiplayer shooters from the 90's and early 2000's. Check out the Toxikk website for more details.

I don't know, maybe Xonotic being free (no microtransactions) will be its downfall when Toxikk being a retail game can afford cooler features. But then again, both games contain bits of Unreal Tournament, and UT itself is going to compete again in the genre eventually.
