Valve announced that a Steam FPS Fest would begin today and so help them, they actually did it. From today through to April 22 at 10AM PT, all things first-person shooter related are having their time in the spotlight on Steam.

This Fest, like those that came before it, features a bunch of sales on first-person shooter titles. There are also some new, free demos for upcoming titles that you can also check out if you so desire.

Game publisher 3D Realms just shared a new look at Phantom Fury. This is the upcoming Slipgate Ironworks developed "road movie-inspired first-person shooter starring Ion Fury's Shelly 'Bombshell' Harrison." Just reading through this description of the game should hold you over a bit until the game's PC release on April 23, 2024.

As one of the key figures behind such standout franchises like Doom, Quake, Heretic, and er... Daikatana, John Romero is no stranger to the gaming industry. The last game he worked on, Empire of Sin, came out back in 2020 to some rather tepid reviews. Some bad reviews don't keep a good Romero down (again, Daikatana says hello), which is why Romero is looking to create a new first-person shooter.

Epic Games is no stranger to first-person shooters, what with them having made several of them with the Unreal franchise and all. Lately, their real bread and butter has been found in Fortnite, a game that is very much not an FPS.
