The NPD sales figures for both software and hardware for the month of February 2014 were released earlier this evening. Keep in mind that the NPD does not know much of anything when it comes to digital sales of software and other figures are outright speculation.

With that in mind, let's take a look at the software sales leaders for February.
1. Call of Duty: Ghosts (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, PC)
2. The Lego Movie Videogame (360, PS3, 3DS, Wii U, Xbox One, PS4, Vita)
3. NBA 2K14 (360, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, PC)
4. Thief (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
5. Grand Theft Auto V (360, PS3)
6. Battlefield 4 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC)
7. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag (360, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Wii U, PC)
8. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, 360)
9. Minecraft (360)
10. Bravely Default (3DS)

Microsoft has come out and said they have sold 258,000 Xbox One consoles in the month of February. While Sony did not specify a number, some industry insiders have said that the PlayStation 4 led hardware sales. The Xbox One reportedly sold 90% of what the PlayStation 4 did for that month, meaning the PS4 sold about 287,000 units.

Nintendo has said that sales of Donkey Kong have pushed sales of the Wii U to an increase of 25% over the previous year for the same month. That means they sold roughly 83,000 units.

The figures for March should be interesting as that is when we will really see how much Titanfall pushed Xbox One sales and how INFAMOUS: Second Son helped push PS4 sales.
