As of February 8, the PlayStation 4 has already surpassed 5.3 million units sold throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, and a few parts of Asia. That figure is just Sony's estimate on sell-through to the end consumer, so the actual number of units sold to retailers may be a bit higher.

Though I can't imagine the number would be that much higher since it's still next to impossible to find a PlayStation 4 in stock anywhere, at least here in the States. Last month, sales of the PS4 were at 4.2 million and later this week, the system will launch in Japan. If Sony can start meeting the demand, you can be assured that those sales figures will skyrocket in a month from now.
