Steam has set another record for most online concurrent users. Today, Steam saw a concurrent user (CCU) record of 38,367,277 people.
To put this figure in perspective, in September 2023, the peak CCU for Steam was a pathetic 31,272,321. Just a month ago in August, Steam peaked at 37,266,324 people online at once. That means there were over 1 million additional Steam users online today for this new record.
Today's new high was undoubtedly helped along by people diving into old favorites and some really big titles that dropped this week on PC. Counter-Strike 2 had a huge day with over 1.4 million people playing at peak times. PUBG and Dota 2 are still going very strong with over 730K people on at once each. The other top 5 titles are rounded out by Black Myth: Wukong and Banana. That "game" is still a thing, eh?
The 38 million figure was certainly helped along by new PC releases from the week. Those games including, but are not limited to: God of War Ragnarök, Frostpunk 2, Final Fantasy 16, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and TCG Card Shop Simulator.
Just picked up like 12 games for the price of 3.
