On September 17, Valve will open the doors to everyone that wants to check out the New Steam Library first-hand. This will be an opt-in beta that will allow anybody to test drive the new features before they're rolled out to everyone as part of a mandatory Steam client update.
Valve went into detail about some of the major changes you'll notice in this new design. First off, is the obvious new look for your game library. You'll see game update information, recently played games, friend activity, and your collections.
A new "events" feature will show you what the latest update for a game is that you just downloaded. In addition, you'll also be able to more easily see what games your friends are playing and join up directly with them from the library home page.
Events will also show you information about limited-time events. These were usually limited to easily overlooked or missed notifications from groups you followed on Steam. Now, the events are just a feed you can quickly look at without worry about missing a notification popup. Valve notes that as of today, developers have access to the new event creation tools.
Valve says that in addition to the new editor tools for events and announcements, they are upgrading the events and announcement pages for players. That would be us. In fact, today's announcement is the first I've seen using this new design, so be sure to check it out for yourself.
Still hate Windows 10, Skype, had to find a new e-mail client after MS killed Live, every website i use has changed for the worse, i can't keep getting used to this stuff i've gone past my limit.
Edit: Add Firefox to the list, but i've got it functioning about 80% the way i liked it.
