• Valve Claims 'No Unauthorized Actions' Took Place During Today's Steam Security Issue

Earlier today, Steam went a little nuts. Since the initial story broke, it seems as though Valve has fixed the issue that exposed full names, addresses, and phone numbers of Steam users. The issue in question was merely "caching issue" that allowed Steam users to view the account details of other Steam users.

Valve issued a brief statement on what happened to Kotaku.
Steam is back up and running without any known issues. As a result of a configuration change earlier today, a caching issue allowed some users to randomly see pages generated for other users for a period of less than an hour. This issue has since been resolved. We believe no unauthorized actions were allowed on accounts beyond the viewing of cached page information and no additional action is required by users.

While there was no apology given nor has there been any mass public statement made, Valve did note that no unauthorized actions were made during this security event. However, there are still many users that claim they have a number of unauthorized purchases made through their account today along with others that have had games added to their Steam shopping carts that were not there before.
