  • $1,900 Bolt II Steam Machine Shipping this Month with SteamOS and Windows

Of all the Steam Machines that were revealed earlier tonight, the most pricey one is from Digital Storm. The Bolt II is a Steam Machine that will begin at $1,900 (though others have it listed at over $2,500 for some configurations) and will be released later this month.

In addition, the Bolt II will feature both SteamOS and Windows on the same machine. This is undoubtedly another contributing factor to why it is the most expensive Steam Machine revealed thus far. Check out some photos of the Bolt II below and then head on over to the official Bolt II website for more pictures and some fluff details about the machine. Full specs have not yet been revealed.

It doesn't take much to be Steam Machine verified.

As part of a presentation at GDC (PDF link) this week, Valve clarified what it takes for games to be given the "verified" status across their current and upcoming hardware lineup.

When it comes to their upcoming Steam Machine, Valve says that if a game is already verified for the Steam Deck, it is then verified for the Steam Machine. In other words, if a game can run at 1080p at 30 FPS it's technically Steam...

Valve Announces a New Steam Machine
      by Shawn Zipay
      They live!

Valve once had an idea for a small form factor gaming PC that would run SteamOS and offer PC gamers a console-like experience. The studio partnered with several vendors, each coming out with their own versions of the Steam Machine. They often featured different hardware configurations but so long as they included Valve's small list of requirements, they were given the Steam Machine branding.

The first batch of Steam Machines came out in late 2015 and cost anywhere...
