Call of Duty's New Anti-cheat has Apparently Leaked Online Just One Day After Being Announced

It's already being reverse engineered by cheat makers.

Over the span of just three days, we had Activision issuing a threat against cheaters, the reveal of Ricochet, the new kernel-level anti-cheat coming to Call of Duty, and now today that anti-cheat has apparently already been leaked. Not only that, but Ricochet is apparently already being reverse engineered by "pay to cheat" (P2C) developers.

Ricochet as it is known was announced just yesterday for Call of...

Activision Blizzard Lawsuits Hit a Major Snag

There may be a conflict of interests that are muddying the waters.

Stick with me on this, because this is probably going to be a little confusing. At the end of September 2021, Activision Blizzard settled a lawsuit brought on by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) for the lowly amount of $18 million (USD). This lawsuit would be used to "compensate and make amends" for employees impacted by the rampant sexual discrimination and harassment that has been...

An anonymous hacker has just leaked a 125GB torrent of hacked and stolen Twitch data on Wednesday, October 6. This is allegedly just the first part of a larger data breach. According to a report from VGC, the leak was done in an attempt to "foster more disruption and competition in the online video streaming space" since Twitch's "community is a disgusting toxic cesspool."

According to reports, the leaked...

Battlefield 2042 Beta Begins October 6

It's coming.

DICE and EA finally lifted the lid on information concerning the upcoming open beta for Battlefield 2042. It has been a long time coming and it's great to finally get some news about this. I know the fanbase has been getting a little, let's just say antsy, with each day that passed by where we did not hear anything.

In the latest Battlefield Briefing, the team announced that the Beta for Battlefield 2042 will run from October 6 through October 9. Specifically,...

SEC Now Investigating Activision Blizzard

Bobby Kotick has been subpoenaed.

The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched an investigation into Activision Blizzard. The government agency will be looking into how Activision Blizzard has handled, or mishandled, the numerous cases of sexual harassment, toxic workplace environments, abuse, and discrimination.

This comes after the state of California sued Activision Blizzard in July over the aforementioned allegations, and then later expanded...

The catch here is that the online multiplayer is out for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Stadia. The PC version has been officially delayed indefinitely while they work out some issues. The mode is still supposedly coming, at some point, for the PC release on the Epic Games Store (affiliate) and the Ubisoft Store.

  • Six Days in Fallujah Publisher Now Says the game is 'Inseparable from Politics'

    Make up your minds.

When the resurrection of Six Days in Fallujah was first announced, publisher Victura told Polygon that they weren't "trying to make a political commentary." Er, that's a really bold and stupid statement to make given how your game focuses on some of the most fucked up events of the Iraq War. Even ignoring the broader context, the game literally focuses on war. War is, by its very nature, political. There's no way around it.

    Cut to today when...

New Hardcore Mode Added to Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War

Introduced as part of the latest patch.

Treyarch just released a new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War. This patch, among the other changes, introduces a brand new hardcore playlist to the mix. It's a hardcore option for Moshpit, a playlist that cycles between some of the game's most popular modes and maps.

This new hardcore mode should be welcome to those that feel as though the TTK (time to kill) has gotten to be a bit too high in the Cold War multiplayer...

    Ranking the Resident Evil Games

For years, Resident Evil has dominated the survival horror genre. Heck, they are often credited with creating the genre in the first place. The first Resident Evil came out back in 1996 and once it did, the gaming industry was forever changed.

In the 25 years since, developer Capcom released a fair number of new entries to the franchise, including some spin-offs, and even a couple of remakes. Today, we will take a look at the best of the mainline franchise releases and determine which...

    Valve Ditches Artifact 2.0

    Makes the original game F2P.

Valve is giving up on the idea of Artifact 2.0. This was their attempt to perform drastic overhauls to Artifact after the game was deemed a failure by fans and developers alike. It was a reboot, of sorts. Valve says that they have "accomplished most of (their) game-side goals, (but they) haven't managed to get the active player numbers to a level that justifies further development at this time."

So, development on the Artifact 2.0...

  • Nacon Issues Statement Defending Decision to Put 'Pirated' Copy of The Sinking City on Steam

    The battle continues.

This week, developer on The Sinking City, Frogwares, claims that the game's publisher, Nacon, illegally hacked a copy of their game and uploaded it to Steam. Shortly thereafter, Frogwares issued a DMCA takedown notice against its own game to get it removed from Steam. This was just the latest move in the ongoing battle between developer and publisher that began back in April of 2020.

In response to the DMCA takedown notice and claims against them...

On March 18, Marvel's Avengers will be updated in a number of ways. That is the date in which Hawkeye will be added to the roster. It will also be the date in which the game is given some next-gen improvements. That's the good news. The bad news here is that March 18 is also the date in which the team at Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix will revise the amount of experience needed in order to level up.

In short, you will now need more...

  • What is Your Favorite Candy?
    by Shawn Zipay
A little something different for Spooktober.

It's October and you know what that means: Scary costumes, frights, chills, creepy games, spooky movies, and yes, lots of candy.

Despite this being a gaming focused site, let's mix up this month's poll, shall we? Instead of doing the obvious question of asking what your favorite scary game is, let's find out what your favorite Halloween candy might be. Now, there are a LOT of options out there. I'm just going to list some of...
