Konami released the first update for the game alongside the general release.

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater is officially available today. There were a couple of days this week where those that spent a bit of extra money already had access to the game but it's now available to everyone.

Alongside today's release, Konami released the first update for the game. This update mainly addresses a few known crash issues that advanced access players, including myself, encountered these past couple of days.

The update brings the game up to version 1.1.2.

This update includes the following improvements and fixes:
    • Resolved an issue where performing consecutive survival knife attacks to secure food could cause the game to crash under certain conditions.
    • Fixed an issue where removing the Crocodile Cap from the Survival Viewer while equipped could cause the game to crash under certain conditions.
    • Addressed crashes that could occur when collecting food near a hungry crocodile under certain conditions.
    • Corrected an issue where transitioning from a roll into a crawl could cause the character model to float in mid-air.
    • Fixed an issue where player movement could become restricted under certain conditions in areas where Intrusion View is used.
    • Resolved an issue where the game could crash under certain conditions while in Radio Window.
We’re grateful to have so many players enjoying the game and sharing valuable feedback and issue reports. Please rest assured that we are actively investigating and addressing all reported concerns.

We’ll share further updates as soon as they become available.
More details on the game itself, including a launch trailer, can be found below.

METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER is now available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam®. METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER, a faithful remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater originally released in 2004 for the PlayStation®2, introduces a new generation of players and loyal fans alike to the very beginning of the Metal Gear saga.

FOX operative codenamed Naked Snake is deployed deep behind enemy lines to prevent a nuclear conflict between global superpowers at the height of the Cold War. His mission quickly devolves into a struggle for survival in a harsh and unforgiving environment where Snake must face the ultimate test. The remake stars the original voice characters, a rich storyline and expansive features of combat survival evolved with unprecedented graphics and immersive sound.

    New Features:
A nightmare game hidden deep within the main story experience returns in collaboration with PlatinumGames. Snake’s GUY SAVAGE Δ nightmare sequence was originally featured in the 2004 release of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater as a playable easter egg. PlatinumGames has reawakened the nightmare that can be unlocked during the main story mode or after the entire story mode is completed.

METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER brings back a fan-favorite special game for PlayStation®5 and Steam® players. Snake must scavenge the jungle in search of the escaped apes in SNAKE VS MONKEY. A similar experience is available for Xbox Series X|S players featuring an explosive twist. SNAKE VS BOMBERMAN crosses over the tactical stealth action of the Metal Gear Solid series with the chaotic gameplay of the Bomberman series.

Additionally, an original multiplayer online mode will be added to the game later this fall. FOX HUNT is set in the same world as the main story. This new mode makes use of stealth and survival elements to deliver exciting hide-and-seek style, back-and-forth gameplay action.

    What’s in the (cardboard) box!:

I don't have the game but i did look at mods to see what people were up to, and i guess it's not surprising most of the mods are stutter and FPS fixes.

I haven't used any mods and it runs fine (outside of a crash I had in my first attempt at playing that they've now patched). I was on DLSS Native for a while up until the first lake area. My framerate dipped into the mid-50s when looking out into the middle of the lake from the entry point, so I put on DLSS Quality and it's been smooth ever since regardless of area.

No typical stutters at all even though it's Unreal Engine 5. But that's more to do with the fact that any one area in the game isn't exactly "big" and it's certainly not open world so traversal stutters aren't really a thing.

I'm hesitant to use any of the framerate unlock mods because of how game logic is probably tied to framerate, just as it was in the original.

Makes sense about unlock mods, and I was worried about the physics breaking or something. I followed this guide, which avoids some of those pitfalls:

AzaleaBC Holy crap, the first link in that guide is to Limewire. I just got the most intense whiplash. But thank you. I might give it a go.
