As a quick reminder: Microsoft plans to spend $190 billion on AI in 2026. In 2025, the company spent $80 billion...

God of War Ragnarok Devs Didn't Know Allies Spoiling Puzzles Would Annoy You

Sony's Santa Monica Studio called it an oversight.

Developers working at Sony's Santa Monica Studio didn't realize that backseating companions would be annoying to players. None is the issue of backseating companions more evident than in Santa Monica's own God of War Ragnarök. Want a moment to look at a puzzle before attempting to solve it? Too bad because here comes Mimir or Atreus with an unsolicited hint.

Earlier this week, MinnMax conducted an interview with God of...

Just give me time to breathe, PLEASE!

Having NPCs verbalize in-game hints on how to solve puzzles really isn't a new idea. There have long been clues provided on puzzle solutions be they spoken by other game characters, provided in the environment, highlighted with some "sense" ability, or something else. However, it sure does seem like those hints are coming a lot earlier and a lot more often in recent releases.

Take God of War Ragnarök as one example. One of...

The latest from Fntastic comes to us from Twitter where the studio says that the trademark for The Day Before was picked up for use with a mobile calendar app.

Was 2025 a big year for game completions for you, or were you more of a "stick to one never-ending, live-service game for the entire year" sort of player?

For this, you can take whatever definition you want as a game "completion." Beat the main story? Earned 100% of the game's achievements? Or simply played enough that you're satisfied with what you accomplished and have no plans to return any time...
