Ubisoft Pulls Licenses for The Crew, Makes the Game Completely Inaccessible to Buyers

From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

Tim Sweeney Called Valve 'Assholes' in Email to Gabe Newell, Valve COO Says 'You Mad Bro?'

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

Multiple studios across all SIE regions impacted.

Sony just laid off about 900 people across multiple PlayStation studios around the world. These 900 or so laid off employees account for roughly 8% of the total workforce for Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Xbox Confirms PlayStation 5 Releases, Diablo 4 on Game Pass, and Future Hardware Plans

No, Starfield and Indiana Jones are not going multi-platform any time soon.

The heads of Xbox stayed true to their word and were indeed a part of a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast. During today's pre-recorded podcast and subsequent blog post, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated that four Xbox exclusives are going to be multi-platform releases. Is it Starfield? Indiana Jones? Gears of War? Halo?! No, no, no, and no. Though Spencer did not specify what those four titles ...

Call of Duty Devs Stage Walkout Over Layoffs

Most of the walkouts come from the QA department following layoffs at Raven Software.

Quality assurance developers alongside some developers from Raven Software are staging a walkout today in protest of the sudden and shocking layoffs that began last Friday. According to Kotaku, these layoffs happened after the staff were previously promised to be given raises by Activision. Raven Software is the studio mainly in charge of the very successful Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale game....

Big Changes are Coming to Call of Duty: Warzone

With a new map comes some big changes to loadouts.

On December 8, Caldera will be the new map, Caldera, taking over Call of Duty: Warzone. This new map is quite tropical in nature as it's set in the Pacific after-all, and will release alongside the first season for Call of Duty: Vanguard. Activision says that the new map was "built on learnings from the community."

Alongside the start of the season and the new Warzone map will be the introduction of the Ricochet...

Call of Duty Bans May Persist Across Across Titles

Maybe just don't cheat in the first place.

Activision has recently updated their security enforcement policy to say that any "extreme or repeated violations" may result in a permanent suspension from every Call of Duty title. Oh yes, this most certainly includes those Call of Duty titles that aren't even out yet but we all know are coming because Call of Duty is inevitable.

This new policy was revealed by way of a recent Ricochet status update. For those unaware,...

Call of Duty: Vanguard Needs 61GB of Space for the Full Experience

You'll be able to save even more space if you don't care about the campaign.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will be released on November 5, 2021, which is just four short days away now. We knew that the install size for Vanguard would be "up to 50% smaller" than prior releases, but it wasn't until today that we get a much clearer picture as to what that actually means.

Activision pushed out a new blog post that details the PC system requirements for Call of Duty: Vanguard....

  • Call of Duty: Vanguard Install Size to be Up to 50% Smaller than Previous Releases

    Well, at least at launch.

If you have installed and played a Call of Duty title released in the past few years, you probably noticed that your PC or console has suddenly run out of room for, well, most anything else. That's because the install sizes for the past few Call of Duty titles have been absolutely massive.

Let's not forget that there was a time where Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was no longer able to fit on a 250GB drive. Thankfully, that install size has come...

  • Call of Duty's New Anti-cheat has Apparently Leaked Online Just One Day After Being Announced

It's already being reverse engineered by cheat makers.

Over the span of just three days, we had Activision issuing a threat against cheaters, the reveal of Ricochet, the new kernel-level anti-cheat coming to Call of Duty, and now today that anti-cheat has apparently already been leaked. Not only that, but Ricochet is apparently already being reverse engineered by "pay to cheat" (P2C) developers.

Ricochet as it is known was announced just yesterday for Call of...

Call of Duty's New Anti-Cheat, Ricochet, to Use Kernel-Level Driver

This is about as invasive an anti-cheat as you can get.

On October 12, the Call of Duty devs issued a vague, ominous, and really cringey warning to cheaters. As it stands, the new anti-cheat for Call of Duty: Warzone wasn't slated to be released until Call of Duty: Vanguard released later this year. So, what then were they teasing to be revealed today?

Well, it was the reveal announcement for their new anti-cheat. They call it Ricochet, which is not to be confused with...

Call of Duty Cheaters Issued Ominous Threat from Activision

I guess Activision is... rising up?

Look cheaters, you best not mess with Call of Duty devs because they're one step away from leveling up and you look like just enough XP. If that made you cringe, you're in the right place to see even more cringe.

The Call of Duty twitter account issued a weird, kind of ominous, kind of cringe-filled threat to cheaters today. In their all caps message, the account said that "CHEATERS AREN'T WELCOME" and that "SOON YOU'LL...

  • Call of Duty: Vanguard Official Reveal

Call of Duty: Vanguard Official Reveal

    Reveal trailer omits "Activision."

The full reveal for Call of Duty: Vanguard happened today. There is a three-minute long trailer for it you can find below if you're so inclined. One thing that really isn't mentioned in the trailer is who is publishing the game. It seems like Activision is really nowhere to be found in the trailer, even at the very end there's a weird omission of the Activision logo.

Maybe they're just trying to distance the game from, you know,...

Call of Duty: Vanguard Official Reveal on Thursday

Until then, enjoy this short teaser.

On Thursday, August 19 at 10:30 AM (PT), Call of Duty: Vanguard will be officially revealed through a trailer. That trailer will make its debut in Call of Duty: Warzone first and foremost.

The teaser trailer, seen below, seems to confirm that it's a WWII setting for the game. It also seems to fall in line with the...
