Schachner issued this brief statement after fans began asking where the soundtrack was.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

The music composer for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone, Sarah Schachner, says that she will no longer be composing music for the franchise due to a challenging "working dynamic" with the audio director.

Schachner did not directly name who this audio director is. However, reporting by Variety notes that the Modern Warfare 2 director of sound design is Stephen Miller. It could be Miller or it could be someone else in a lead audio position.

Schachner's full remarks came after fans began to ask where the soundtrack release for Modern Warfare 2 was. After the soundtrack failed to appear after the game's launch on October 28, fans began to worry that something might be wrong. Initially, she said that she had "no control over these things." A longer statement was issued on November 3, where she briefly talks about the "increasingly challenging" working dynamic with the audio director. She also notes that the soundtrack, whenever it is released, "is not (her) artistic intent in regards to mixing and mastering."

Schachner says that the score included performances by Baseck, Bryan "Brain" Mantia, and M.B. Gordy. She also revealed that the producer behind artists like Beyonce and the Weeknd, Mike Dean, was also "part of the creative vision" she had. Dean apparently has "soundtrack master sin hand" that the world will "unfortunately never get to hear."

Sarah Schachner previously worked on non-Call of Duty games. She composed music for games like Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Unity, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla. She also composed music for the recently released movie, Prey.
