Start downloading now ahead of Warzone 2.0's launch on Wednesday.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is currently available for preload, at least through Steam and Battle.net on PC. However, the console preload process might be a bit cumbersome at the moment.

See, if you want to download Warzone 2.0 on PlayStation 5, you will first need to go to the page for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, hit the Options button to get to the Warzone 2.0 page, and go from there. For Xbox, it should just be a separate listing on the Xbox storefront.

Of course, it's not exactly the most straight forward thing on PC either, at least the Steam version isn't. A forum post by Activision says that if you have purchased Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2.0 is already preloaded. There will also be another Season 01 update released prior to Warzone's launch on Wednesday. If you should own Modern Warfare 2 and click on preload somewhere through Steam, it will merely launch Modern Warfare 2 and get you nowhere. The content is there already, just go about your business.

If you have not purchased Modern Warfare 2 on Steam and wish to preload Warzone 2.0, you can do so at the link I provided above. You will still need to download the Season 01 update same as Modern Warfare 2 owners prior to Warzone 2.0's launch.

The system requirements for Warzone 2.0 seem to be identical to those for Modern Warfare 2. The space requirements say that you will need 125GB for Warzone 2, but it's dreadfully unclear if that space includes having everything installed (Warzone 2, campaign, and multiplayer) or just Warzone 2.0 itself. I can say that with everything except the single player campaign installed, Steam is telling me Modern Warfare 2 (multiplayer and presumably the Warzone 2.0 preload) are only taking up a bit over 28GB right now. Take that for whatever you feel it's worth.
