  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Launch Trailer

Searching for Call of Duty. Call of Duty detected.
Four main characters from Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. All are wearing combat armor and holding various high-powered weapons.

The launch trailer is out now for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The trailer comes a little over a week ahead of the game's November 14, 2025 release date. This release won't have any sort of early unlock or advanced access for those paying for more premium versions of the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will feature 18 multiplayer maps at launch. The main story campaign will also be fully playable in co-op. The launch trailer obviously gives you a little taste of everything that will be offered when the game launches on the 14th. As usual, the emphasis seems to be on the game's multiplayer, which is primarily what most Call of Duty fans flock to anyway.

Fans are also treated to a little snippet of the zombies content coming in Black Ops 7. We also get a look at Menendez, a returning character originally from Black Ops 2. Menendez has since appeared in numerous Call of Duty titles since Black Ops 2.

Activision and Treyarch claim that this is the biggest Black Ops game ever, which is quite the statement to make. Perhaps they mean in terms of launch maps? Perhaps in campaign length? Perhaps in microtransactions available for purchase on day 1?

There is probably no doubt that no matter how good or bad this year's Call of Duty is, it will still sell several million copies. I believe Call of Duty has been the best-selling game (at least in the US) each year for something like the past 16 years, so there is really no reason to expect that to change this year. Here's hoping the campaign is at least as good as the Black Ops 6 campaign was last year.

At the very least, the campaign will curbstomp Battlefield 6's campaign blindfolded with one hand tied behind its back. At least from what I'm hearing from the majority of people who played Battlefield 6's singleplayer, including you. Not that it's a "failure," just underwhelming and generally forgettable. But not broken so, it qualifies as a singleplayer campaign.

I'm just glad Harper survives. I tried to keep him alive until I found out how the story branching pathways work, and how they influence the fate of other characters. It also appears the assumption was made that you didn't let his face get burned given the lack of scarring. But at the same time, I also wanted another character to survive, which isn't possible given what the story is about (in my playthrough that character did survive at the cost of other characters).

BF6 campaign is basically a bunch of stuff that happens, together with politically vague geolocations, incoherent enemy actions and motives, with some of the bombastic set-pieces that CoD is more known for. When a story makes less sense than your typical CoD story, that's bad.
