I say "pieced together" because Activision and Treyarch were sending out direct messages to a number of Call of Duty communities with small sections of the overall map. Those communities then shared the media they were sent with the world, typically through Twitter posts. It took a bit of time, but it looks like all of the pieces finally fell into place.
This map comes just a day after we learned some key details about Blackout from Game Informer.
