Operation Firestorm will be one of the classic Battlefield multiplayer maps that will also be available in Battlefield 6. Even ahead of release, players were already worrying about just how bad the camping would be in places like rooftops and even atop the towers.
Thanks to the release of more leaked footage from Battlefield Labs, we now know that Electronic Arts thought about these issues. When it comes to the towers, there is now a way to deal with anybody that feels compelled to set up a tent on top of one of the very tall towers on the map.
The footage, which was shared this week to Reddit, shows that at least one of the towers will have a "Valve Purge" button located at the base. When activated, this system will shoot out hot streams of pain and death (or just fire) for anybody that thinks they are untouchable at the top. What isn't clear from the clip is if there is some sort of a cooldown timer for when the Valve Purge can be activated again.
This same clip goes on to show how thoroughly buildings can be destroyed. Beyond walls, ceilings can also be taken out with some explosives or with enough damage. This means that even rooftops will no longer be a safe haven for campers that don't know the meaning of "PTFO."
As is always the case though, those who really want to camp will find a place to do so. It's just that now the rooftops and towers won't be nearly as safe as they used to be.
