Season 7 is the last season for Battlefield 2042 and it is nearly at its end. However, DICE says that "support for Battlefield 2042 will continue." The studio says that they will continue with "regular game, balance, and Quality of Life updates." There will also be updates to Portal highlights and Friday Night Battlefield experiences.
There is a little something new coming for Battlefield 2042. DICE says that there will be periodic Vault Drops and events.
VAULT DROPS
Vault Drops will be multi-week moments for you to unlock content in All-Out Warfare.

Vault Drops will start later in the year with a vehicle from Portal that we know you’ll be excited to get your hands on.
These events will allow you to both try, and unlock the new hardware. Depending on the piece of hardware, it will come with Mastery, Attachments and Universal skins, and with additional balance changes to ensure their gameplay matches the existing All-Out Warfare roster.

DICE is also bringing new events to the game. Over four weeks, players will get "new ways to play" and will be able to make "progression via an event pass, with free and premium tiers, new cosmetics, and more." This event will take place around Halloween.
The Community Calendar will also be updated to show the weekly playlists and featured experiences that you'll see in the months ahead.
