  • How to Unlock the Hidden Phantom Prospect Assignment in Battlefield 4

There is a hidden gold assignment tucked away in Battlefield 4. It's called "Phantom Prospect" and it involves quite a bit of work to actually earn once you've unlocked it.

First thing's first, however, let's find out how to unlock it in the first place!
    Prerequisites:
    • This cannot be done in Firefox for some reason. Any other browser seems to work fine.
    • You must have Battlefield 4 Premium.

    Steps to unlock:
    1. Go to Battlelog
    2. Click on Leaderboards
    3. Scroll to the bottom of the Leaderboards page
    4. At the bottom left of the page is a small, faded skull icon (See Screenshot)
    5. Click on the skull icon
    6. When the dialogue prompts you for a password enter "bumpinthenight" (without quotes)
    7. Congratulations, you've unlocked a new gold assignment called "Phantom Prospect"

They have actually come clean and listed the issues. No more hiding.

I think they will get a lot more respect and a lot less griping after this.
Do you not follow any of them on twitter or look at their blog or news section? Everything in the Top Issues Tracker was mentioned a number of times in those areas. All they did was make a central area and put issues they already said were issues. They didnt hide anything or tried to sweep something under a rug.

The best part is, you dont have to believe me, you can search yourself and find their posts.

Also, the griping has not changed at all. Most people still dont know the tracker exists nor do they care.

A little bird told me - get the hint - that unless an official statement is made, it is not official. If you believe everything you read on Twitter, Facebook or on blogs then you´re no better than all the rest.

You can search for a lot of things on the internet and half is hearsay or rumours. If you do not apply some source criticism then you would think JFK was killed by CIA........

In addition to that when did the stockmarket react on the news. Only when it was an official statement.

So official DICE channels such as their forums, blogs, and twitter not official? Oh, OK. So unless EA themselves, and only EA, post and mention the same news, it doesn't count.

      Thats good to know.

As for me, because I watch the official DICE channels (as well as fan sites like TGN), and not EA channels, I am not in the dark, like you and your little miner canary that is dead in its cage.

But keep watching the dead bird, Im sure the wind will blow it around once in a while.

Im not talking rumors, Im talking actual problems that were reported. If you spent 2 minutes researching what I said about looking around for yourself, you would see that. Im not talking about rumor sites or what people "believe", Im talking actual posts.

As for the stock market reacting, it reacted to EA saying that everything DICE was working on was suspended until the game was fixed. It caused a panic about projections and lost revenue. Then that caused EA to come out a day later and say "well, not everything, just DLC." because they wanted to stop the slide.

In reality, nothing changed. EA wanted to appease the consumer and got hit from the stock market because of it.

OK, so I'm not a morning person and I'm sorry I said your bird was dead and I am sure I came off harsh. I'm used to talking in Forumfield where people just want blinders on everything and this isn't like there.

So, with that said, Here is what I was talking about:

December 11th (or one week ago) the tracker system is announced:
As you know, we are continuously working on fixing the issues some of you are experiencing with Battlefield 4. If you want to know in detail what major issues have been fixed, and which ones we’re working on at the moment, we are now happy to share our Battlefield 4 Top Issues Tracker. Visit t…

Two weeks ago a PC update and mention of the "Control Room" that states:
As usual, you can always find out the latest on upcoming and released game updates and server updates in the Battlefield 4 Control Room.
Just a quick note that the next PC game update will arrive Dec 3. Among other things, it removes the EMP blur effect we’ve seen your feedback on, as well as the “one-shot kill bug” and the audio issue prevalent on Golmud Railway and Lancang Dam. As usual, you can always find out th…

So lets look at this magical control room.
      PC side only:
Battlelog is a free social platform that ties into Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 3 and lets you socialize, track stats, plan your next game, and more from your web browser!

Looking at the control room there are posts dating back to November listing fixes and such.

Now those are fixes, not known issues. So lets keep going.

3 Weeks ago Xp event moved because of known issues.
We continue to work hard to further increase the stability of Battlefield 4, and if you have yet to hear about our Battlefield 4 Player Appreciation program head here [battlelog.battlefield.com] for all the info, including Double XP for all Battlefield 4 players between Nov. 28 – Dec. 5. Seeing as t…

1 MONTH ago post made about fixes already releasd and next steps to fix known issues:
Battlelog is a free social platform that ties into Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 3 and lets you socialize, track stats, plan your next game, and more from your web browser!

1 MONTH ago, just after release post is made saying "Hey, some PC players are having issues."
The launch of Battlefield 4 is in full swing and the majority of our fans are having a good time. We’ve noticed that some players on PC are experiencing crashes, something that we understand can be frustrating. Rest assured that we are working to address these issues. If you’re having problems, plea…

All this in one spot. I didn't even go into the blogs, tweets, and other official spots or forum posts.

Its nice they put an area in where you can track stuff now. That's great! Good job! But I think these few posts I made show that nothing was hidden and it couldn't be because of the forums anyway.

Its real easy to say that no one is doing anything. It actually takes a little effort to see if someone actually is. That's my point.

So these posts are off topic. I feel I have said enough and made my point. If anyone would like to discuss this further, feel free to make a thread in the BF4 section and I will join you there.

Improving on Greatness: A Review of the HexGaming Phantom Controller with Hall Effect Sticks
    by Shawn Zipay
The already stellar HexGaming Phantom now has a Hall Effect option.

In June 2024, I wrote a review for the Phantom, a then upcoming premium PlayStation 5 controller from HexGaming. My review of the HexGaming Phantom was almost universally glowing. I praised the controller for building off the already solid foundation of the PlayStation 5 DualSense while also adding new features that made a lot of sense. The features and quality improvements were things that made sense and, in my...
