Nintendo announced Metroid Ravenous during their Direct showcase. The newest mainline entry in the sci-fi action series will be a Switch 2 exclusive and will be released on January 28, 2027. Pricing starts at $59.99 for the digital edition, $69.99 for a physical copy, and $119.99 for a Special Edition that is listed on Nintendo of America's website.

During their E3 Nintendo Direct, the company announced their first 2D Metroid game in about 19 years. Metroid Dread will feature classic 2D gameplay when it releases for the Nintendo Switch on October 8.
