Footage from what is claimed to be the canceled Iron Man game by Avalanche Studios has allegedly surfaced online. In the early 2010s, the Just Cause studio was reportedly working on an Iron Man game, though it was never officially announced to the public. Gameplay from that game, which has long since been shelved internally, was shared online by someone who claims they pulled it from a PlayStation 3 developer kit. This same person previously leaked files from Grand Theft Auto 5 builds as well as files from the long-canceled Agent.
Though the game's existence was never officially announced, Avalanche Studios co-founder Christofer Sundberg confirmed in a 2022 interview with MinnMax that the studio was working on an Iron Man title in the early 2010s. He also confirmed the cancelation of the project during the same interview.
The footage was uploaded to Archive.org, then shared via Reddit. There are a good number of individual clips in the footage, including plenty showing Iron Man flying around large environments, fighting jets, attacking hostile (presumably) buildings, and even some hand-to-hand combat encounters.
Though this Iron Man title from Avalanche Studios will never see the light of day, there is at least one Iron Man game assumed to still be in development. The last we heard, EA Motive is working on a new Iron Man game, but details on this specific title have been extremely hard to come by. EA Motive reportedly began development on their Iron Man title in 2022, and there have been no updates since then.
