GSC Game World launched Stalker 2: Cost of Hope today, the first major game expansion for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Cost of Hope is out now for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC. This first major expansion includes "dozens of hours of gameplay."
Players will once again take on the role of Skif, the protagonist from the base game. The events of Cost of Hope take place alongside the events of Heart of Chornobyl. You will get to explore the Chornobyl Nuclear Plant and the "maze-like paths of the Iron Forest." There is new loot to find, new locations, and new dangers.
You can pick up Cost of Hope as a standalone purchase for $29.99. It is also included at no additional cost for those who own the Ultimate Edition of the game. Purchase options are available through Steam, GOG, Epic, XBOX, and PlayStation storefronts.
This expansion was released alongside the massive Update 2.0 for Stalker 2. This update is free to all players. The biggest change in the update is the engine upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.5.4, which offers massive performance and visual improvements.
Update 2.0 includes additional AI improvements, three types of binoculars, new weapons and attachments, highly customizable difficulty settings, and more.
