GSC Game World premiered the first look at the first major expansion for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl today during the Xbox Partner Preview. Stalker 2: Cost of Hope will be the middle chapter of the "second trilogy." Obviously, the core game of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is the first part. A future story DLC, presumably the finale of this second trilogy, will be revealed later.
Stalker 2: Cost of Hope will send players out into a new expedition into the Zone. This will be a non-linear expansion that will add "dozens of hours of gameplay."
It’s time to step into a new chapter of a well-known conflict. Duty, one of the oldest factions, sees the Zone as a threat that must be contained and destroyed. On the other side, Freedom believes it’s a gift — something to explore and harness for the greater good. For a time, this tension was held together by a fragile peace. But deals like that rarely last.
Two new areas will be added in Cost of Hope. There is the "iconic Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant" and the Iron Forest with its "maze-like paths."
