The start of a broader backwards compatibility push.

XBOX just released the first handful of titles in their new XBOX Backward Compatibility on PC program. This will allow you to play classic XBOX games on PC and various PC-focused handheld devices, which just happens to include the ROG XBOX Ally and XBOX Ally X.

The four titles offered today are part of the "early release" of XBOX Backward Compatibility on PC. Today's releases not only allow you to play these games on PC and handhelds for the first time, but they also add in some new features "to make your gaming experience better than ever."

New features added to the games include the ability to upscale the resolutions by 4x, VSync support, both fullscreen and windowed display mode options, anisotropic filtering, enhanced anti-aliasing, "and more." There are also customizable language and audio settings.

Fans will also be happy to hear that XBOX will add in Achievements to these backwards compatible titles later this year. The following titles will get Achievements added "in the coming months."

The first four titles available today are:

• BLiNX: The Time Sweeper
• Conker: Live and Reloaded
• Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
• Fuzion Frenzy

Each of these games can be purchased individually on PC. If you are a Game Pass subscriber, the games are also included there so you can download and play right now. Those who already own a digital license for any of these games on console can also just download and play the games right now on PC or handheld. And of course, you can also just stream the games anywhere with XBOX Cloud Gaming.

XBOX says that they plan to "add even more features to XBOX Backward Compatibility games in the future." It's probably also safe to assume that many more titles will be added as time goes on.
