Outbound's release has moved from April 23 to May 14 as the teams at Silver Lining Interactive and Square Glade Games need some more time for polish. Square Glade says that they "identified specific bumps on the virtual road that require immediate attention" following a recent demo release.
Basically, the team found some some issues that they needed to address. They didn't feel as though they had enough time to make sure those issues were adequately fixed ahead of its initially planned April 23rd release date.
We’ve had to make the difficult decision to delay Outbound to May 14th. Late in the process, an issue has been identified that could negatively impact your enjoyment of the game. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time to still guarantee a release across all platforms on the originally planned date. Please be assured that our team has worked extremely hard to address this and did everything possible to stay on schedule. We know that you may be disappointed by this news, but appreciate your understanding and believe the delay will result in a more polished, bug-free experience.
As a small thank-you for your patience, we’ll be keeping the free demo available for longer on selected platforms until May 12th. Let’s hit the road with a full launch on May 14th!

The demo for Outbound is still available on places such as Steam. This demo includes a "sizable part" of the game's first map. You can get a taste of the building, customization, crafting, upgrades, and living life on the road. You can also play solo or cooperative with friends.
