A closed beta for The Expanse: Osiris Reborn will be made available starting April 22, 2026. This closed beta will be available on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 to everyone that purchases the Collector's Edition of Miller's Pack directly from The Expanse: Osiris Reborn's website.

This beta access does seem to be limited only to those pre-ordering through the website. Pre-orders of the game made elsewhere, such as direct through Steam, Epic, GOG, Xbox, or PlayStation will not get access to the closed beta.

As a Pinkwater Security mercenary who survives a catastrophic incident on Eros, players have to build a team to fight back against Protogen and their experiments. Though the game is set in the same universe as the books and show, it focuses on its own story and characters.

The beta will allow players to explore a remote space station belonging to their employer Pinkwater Security in the wake of escaping from the catastrophic events on Eros known from the books and TV series. Along with exploring this new environment, they will be able to interact with its inhabitants and experiment with dialogue options and choices. Once the masterminds behind the attack on Eros catch up to them, they will also experience the combat and upgrade mechanics first hand.

Owlcat aims at incorporation valuable player feedback from the beta into the final game.
Owlcat also notes that the beta is very much a work in progress and that "performance may vary and won't reflect the final quality of the game." They recommend that if you play on consoles you play on either the Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5.

In addition to word about the beta, Owlcat also released a new gameplay trailer today during the Xbox Partner Preview event.

I had no recollection of what this game was, from genre (beyond Sci-Fi obviously). I can't say that's good marketing, or am I just under a rock? Even their blurb doesn't say what kind of game it is.

Google tells me it's a Mass Effect tribute / wannabe. That's nice.
