DayZ creator Dean Hall and the team at GRIP Studios have released ICARUS: Console Edition today. Appropriately enough, today's release is for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
Players, be they going in solo or in teams of up to four, will try to survive on the planet Icarus. As a prospector seeking fortune, players will explore alien "landscapes scarred by humanity's failed attempt at terraforming." While trying to extract valuable exotic resources, you will have to contend with the planet's "savage fauna, flora, and the very deadly skies above."
Today's console release comes in a couple of flavors: Standard at $39.99 and Ultimate at $139.99. Both versions come with the New Frontiers Expansion, which doubles the size of the game world to 128km2.
ICARUS: Console Edition includes the New Frontiers Expansion, doubling the size of the game world to 128km2 and bringing with it six new biomes not included in the base game. Its region of Prometheus, far deadlier than anything else seen before on Icarus, ramps up the challenge further, with indigenous wildlife clamouring to overwhelm any prospector looking to extract its riches. It also harbours a conspiracy in the shadows, with a string of six missions threatening to reveal the secrets of the corporation that tried to make the planet a second Earth…
