The next chapter for the episodic horror series that doesn't seem to have an end is nearly upon us. Chapter 5 for Poppy Playtime has an announced release date of Wednesday, February 18, 2026. This release date is for the PC version only as a "full console release will follow in the months ahead."
Now, as far as I could see (which is admittedly only a brief search), there is no firm word on just how many episodes Poppy Playtime will continue on for. The studio initially had a very loose plan for ten episodes (Chapters), but nothing was set in stone. The game has an overall story that carries across multiple episodic releases. The first episode was released in 2021. The next three Chapters were spread out from 2022 through 2025. It is billed as an episodic game but the releases are slow coming.
I can only imagine that the game will continue on for as long as it's profitable, though fans expect the story to conclude in Chapter 6. There is allegedly a Poppy Playtime film adaptation in the works, but there hasn't been much in the way of updates on that project since 2024.
