GameSir and Hyperkin joined forces to create what they're calling "the world's first fully modular mobile gaming controller." The X5 Alteron includes several different modules that you can swap in and out for basically unlimited configuration potential. The X5 Alteron is designed for mobile devices, such as your Android phone and iPhone, but it can also work with things like your iPad and even both generations of the Nintendo Switch.
The sticks use new Capacitive technology, which is supposedly even more responsive and less prone to stick drift than previous best technologies of Hall effect and TMR. GameSir and Hyperkin also utilize Hall effect analog triggers to provide a "mouse-click" like feel to buttons. There are a few special modules included with this, including an N64 module, Fight Pad module, and GameCube module.
As with most new technologies shown off at CES this week, the X5 Alteron does not yet have a set price nor a release date.
