Guild Wars Reforged, the updated version of the original 2005 Guild Wars MMORPG, is coming this summer to Android and iOS devices. Mobile players will be able to download Guild Wars Reforged for free, though there will be ads. This free download gives players access to the original Prophecies campaign.
There are paths that lead to an add-free experience. Each Guild Wars campaign, including Prophecies, can be purchased as an add-on for $6.99. This will give players access to the game without any intrusive ads. Furthermore, this purchase will also allow already existing players to log into their ArenaNet accounts and sync up their characters and progress across devices, enable chat, and enable trading.
There are a couple of exceptions to this pricing scheme. The Eye of the North expansion is $9.99 and the Bonus Mission Pack is $5.99.
Existing players that already own Guild Wars Reforged and have an existing ArenaNet account can simply log into their mobile device and sync their purchases and progress to get the ad-free version at no additional cost. Likewise, those who purchase first on mobile and sync their Apple or Google accounts with their Guild Wars Reforged account, can simply login and continue playing Reforged on PC without issue.
Android users can pre-register right now for Guild Wars Reforged. The Apple App Store registration will come "soon." There will be a soft launch period in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the Philippines before it's released globally.
As a bonus for all Guild Wars Reforged players, a new post-Searing dungeon was added to the game to celebrate the original game's 21st anniversary. This update includes a new set of quests and an unlockable new Mesmer hero, Ghost of Althea.
