In addition to last year's release of Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, today's release of Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake brings a conclusion to the Erdrick trilogy. Today's release is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, Steam, and the Microsoft Store.

As you can safely assume, Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake includes full remakes of Dragon Quest and Dragon Quest 2. These two games take place after the events of Dragon Quest 3, which is why they were released after that one for these remakes.

There is new, never-before-seen story content and gameplay updates included in these remakes. One of the new pieces of content is a new, fully explorable underwater world and a new playable character in Dragon Quest 2.

In DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake, players take control of the descendants of Erdrick, the legendary hero whose legacy is passed down through generations following the events of DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake. Players can continue the sprawling story in these games, while newcomers can experience the entire compilation with the new digital-only DRAGON QUEST HD-2D Erdrick Trilogy Collection, which packages together DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake and DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake in one definitive set for $99.99.
