  • New Nvidia Driver 581.29 Released for Borderlands 4 and Dying Light: The Beast

A fix for Marvel Rivals was also implemented.

Nvidia released the new Game Ready Driver 581.29 today. This driver is the latest in their Game Ready Driver series and includes the latest Nvidia technology support for games such as Borderlands 4 and Dying Light: The Beast.

Also included in this update is a fix for Marvel Rivals that was introduced with the 581.xx driver series. This fix is said to address an issue where players were experiencing lower than expected performance for the Marvel filled hero shooter.

Unfortunately, some bugs are still listed as "open issues" with this new driver release. Notably, Counter-Strike 2 still has a text distortion issue when playing at a lower resolution than the native resolution of the display. There are also open issues for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (light flickering on some PC configurations) and Adobe Premiere Pro (freezing during export when using hardware encoding).

Nvidia also updated RTX Remix through the Nvidia app today. This update adds an advanced particle system that will allow modders to "enhance traditional fire and smoke effects."

Additionally, we’ve released a new RTX Remix update through NVIDIA app, adding an advanced particle system that enables modders to enhance traditional fire and smoke effects, as well as more fantastical effects, like those in Portal. Now, modders can create brand new particles in Remix that match the look of those found in modern titles. This opens the door for over 165 RTX Remix compatible games to have advanced particle effects for the first time, and we can’t wait to see all the ways modders dazzle gamers with realistic and spectacular effects.

All that said, here’s a look at the newest games and how NVIDIA’s RTX technology is delivering the definitive PC experience for GeForce RTX players:
    • Borderlands® 4: Gearbox’s Borderlands® 4 brings intense 4-player co-op action, badass Vault Hunters, and billions of wild and deadly weapons to Kairos, an all-new planet ruled by a ruthless tyrant. GeForce RTX 50 Series owners can multiply Borderlands 4 frame rates by up to 5.5X using DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation. GeForce RTX 40 Series owners can accelerate performance with DLSS Frame Generation. And all GeForce RTX gamers can boost frame rates and enhance image clarity using DLSS Super Resolution’s transformer AI model. Additionally, all GeForce gamers can activate NVIDIA Reflex, reducing PC latency by up to 54%, further increasing the responsiveness of Borderlands 4’s fast-paced action. Our Borderlands 4 GeForce RTX 50 Series Bundle is also available until Sept. 22, getting you a copy of the game and the Gilded Glory Pack with the purchase of qualifying 50 series GPUs at participating retailers and etailers. And if you want 50 series performance, even without the latest hardware, Borderlands® 4 is also coming to GeForce NOW!
    • Dying Light: The Beast: This game is a unique blend of open world and action survival horror set in the beautiful, yet dangerous valley of Castor Woods that’s now overrun with zombies. When the beast is unleashed on Sept. 19, GeForce RTX gamers playing Dying Light: The Beast can use DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, DLSS Frame Generation, and DLSS Super Resolution to enhance their experience. And with a suite of ray-traced effects, further enhanced by DLSS Ray Reconstruction, image quality will reach new heights.
    • Predecessor: Omeda Studios’ Predecessor is a team-based strategy MOBA game that puts you into the heart of the action with intense fights, epic skills and stunning third-person gameplay. A recent update has introduced DLSS 4 to Predecessor, adding support for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, DLSS Frame Generation, DLAA, NVIDIA Reflex, and DLSS Super Resolution, powered by our newest transformer AI mode, for enhanced image quality.
    • Dune: Awakening Chapter 2: After launching in June with day-one DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation support, multiplying frame rates by an average of 4.9X at 4K, Dune: Awakening Chapter 2 is available now. Everyone can try the popular open world survival-crafting game thanks to a Steam Free Weekend that allows you to check out and play all of the game’s content. Embark on the next chapter of the main story following the sinister revelations at the end of Chapter 1 and explore the standalone content at the heart of the new Lost Harvest DLC.
