  • Funcom Celebrates as Dune: Awakening Sales Top One Million Units

It is the fastest selling Funcom game ever.

Funcom has over one million reasons to celebrate today. In its first two weeks of availability, Dune: Awakening has sold over one million copies. They are also pretty darn happy with the fan reception to the game, having earned a "very positive" user review score on Steam.

Funcom said that since Dune's June 10th launch, "1,000,000 players have awakened!" They continue to note, "It's now Funcom's fastest-selling game ever." Another Funcom title, Conan Exiles, took over a year to reach the same one-million sold milestone.

So far, Dune: Awakening has maintained steady player counts each day since release. The all-time peak for the game happened just eight days ago when it hit 189,333 concurrent players. The 24-hour peak was 142,333 concurrent players.

So far, most of the complaints about Dune: Awakening stem from the "forced" endgame PvP. Funcom already patched out a griefing method that had allowed players to squish others with their Ornithopters. Still, the studio knows this isn't enough and has already said that they are working on several content updates that will expand the endgame for fans of both PvE and PvP.

Dune: Awakening is only available on PC. A PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release is expected, but not until some time in 2026.
